Smoking a Montecristo Petit No 2
With a smooth and oily feel, the Petit No 2 has a close to perfect wrapper with tight seams and only a few veins. Its golden-brown Colorado wrapper is firmly wrapped with no soft spots, a full foot, and an expertly constructed triple cap.
Pre-light, this stick smells strongly of cedar. The Petit No 2 exhibits strong floral and peppery notes in the first third and produces a lot of aromatic smoke as soon as you light it.
This evenly rolled stick has a great draw and even burn line, and builds a light grey ash that can hold on firmly for an inch. Like the Montecristo No 2, it has a lovely sweet and spicy taste, backed by that Cuban creaminess.
The sweetness is gone by the second third, replaced with flavors like nutmeg and bread, with a medium to full strength and body. In the final third, the woodiness broadens with a sweet retrohale and a diminished strength.
Cigar Value
With a gorgeous new band and intense, satisfying smoking experience, this is an excellent all-round cigar, especially for those who enjoy the shorter rendition of the same stogie – the Montecristo No 2. Since it has an oily wrapper and intense pepper and cedar flavors, it will age nicely in the humidor.
Montecristo Petit No 2 Experience
If you like Montecristo No 2, you will love the shorter version of the classic – the Petit No 2. With the same floral woodiness and peppery high notes that you’ve come to enjoy in the full-length No 2, you can enjoy a Petit No 2 in less time.
A new addition to the Montecristo Línea Clásica, this is an ideal smoke when you want to pack a lot of enjoyment into a short amount of time. With a new design featuring gold fleur-de-lís on the band, this stick is as good as the full No 2 version, only shorter and faster to smoke.
Montecristo Petit No 2 Overview
At 4¾“ and a 53 gauge ring, this is a short, stout version of the Montecristo No 2, the petit’s big brother. Chocolatey and nutty with the essential Cuban creaminess, this is an excellent smoke after a heavy meal or paired with whiskeys.

AMAZING! NOT PETITE IN VALUE Best smoke so far! Everything a No. 2 has to offer in but shorter. I smoked this down to the wrapper and the ash held tight until I took the wrapper off. Smoked evenly, smooth and creamy. Loved it!Best smoke so far! Everything a No. 2 has to offer in but shorter. I smoked this down to the wrapper and the ash held tight until I took the wrapper off.
